Should Keno Davis stay at Drake?

GreenKnight93 asked:

If you were him would you stay at Drake and build a conference powerhouse a la Dana Altman at Creighton and Mark Few at Gonzaga or would you take a step up and take a head coaching position at a school from a power conference?

I think losing Adam Emmenecker is big, he’s a one of a kind player in some respects. However, your leading scorer Josh Young is only a sophomore and he’s got game and with the kind of national exposure the Drake got this season I’m sure recruiting a legit PG won’t be that difficult.

I say Keno Davis should stay. Too many coaches leave too early from a successful situation and wind up screwing themselves over in the big league.
Also take into account guys like Gregg Marshall who left Winthrop for Wichita State after Winthrop beat Notre Dame and then lost in the NCAA Tournament last year. It could be fool’s gold going after a better coaching position, why not stay with what you built?

no one cares about drake, its a crappy basketball college, and who is keno davis anyways, its all about ucla, memphis, tennessee, etc, all the d1 schools that are well-known, not some small school drake

I would rather have him stay at Drake, but that is his call. (Hawkeye fan)

who cares?…

Being from Iowa, I certainly hope he does stay. But if someone from a major conference makes him a big-bucks offer, I can understand how tempting that would be. All I can do is hope.
